Which rooms are NOT by the pool?

      A:

The Resort Tower is near the pool, so that's NOT where you want to be. I suggest you phone the hotel for better info.

      1 check-in

Super basic hotel but the rooms are clean, beds comfy and pillows plush.

The location is great and there are plenty of food options onsite.

Check in was quick and friendly.

Tons of slots, table games, family friendly activities.

Room was $100 with resort fee mid week.

This casino is for gamblers, but in the '90s, the Strip refocused and wanted to shoot for kids and families looking for a cheap place to stay or families not looking for the bourgeois life. It's a great location and an excellent spot, but it could be more fun for locals. Touristy. Shows, a Fun Dungeon, a food court, and a pool are the highlights. Many will find something other than that adult lifestyle here. Drinks are overpriced; there are few comps; dealers are eh; no nightclub, lackluster lounge, or okay sports book exists.

      PARKING
Parking depends on how recently you've stayed. You'll have a different opinion on it. Late in the past year or so, both MGM's and Caesar's properties have started to charge for parking--anyone who dislikes this no longer extends parks there. Getting ripped off, not caring, overpriced, that's the Strip. I hate paying to park. It takes too long. Paid parking shouldn't exist. Prices are shitty if it's for a short time; if you stay overnight, it's okay. However, it's been renovated and is more efficient. Parking before this was awful and crowded. This new payment for parking has eliminated a lot of freeloaders. Anyone who isn't on the premises will not park there. It won't benefit them to pay for it. It clears out all the extra cars with no one in the casino. I enjoy that! Parking isn't superb here, but it's not nearly as bad as it was.

      HOTEL and PRICE
The rooms anywhere are never a focus to me, but the rooms here are okay. The hotel aspect here is cheap and affordable. Prices here are appropriate. I recommend lodging here if you want to save money. Strip casinos have stringent guidelines. I'm glad I've never had any issues with payments or cleanliness during my stay at this hotel or casino. This property has one of the most rooms on the Strip for a single resort. You'll find average room amenities available. You have a decent view of the Strip from here, BUT the room windows are weird. So, as a theme design, it's like a castle. The windows and their design are excellent. For functionality, it's seriously dungeon-like to some. With low light and privacy, these windows are great if you prefer sleeping in. If you're a sunny type of person and love the view, these windows suck. The front desk was competent, and the service was decent. I can't say much more about the hotel rooms.

      BUFFET
The name sucks, but the food is alright. The price isn't too outrageous, but there are many other buffets worth your buck and a better selection of delicious dishes. So nowadays, buffets are called "THE BUFFET." What the hell? They renovated this a few years ago. It's pretty nice looking. The modern surroundings make it seem like a resort-style buffet. Does it compete with renowned worldwide buffets? I don't think so. It's alright, though. I wasn't a big fan of everything they had. I try everything. Wait time varies everywhere, but stop by if you're hungry and lazy. It's alright. Do you want your mind blown, better savings, and tasty eats? Go elsewhere

      SPA
I've meant to, but I have yet to go to the spa here. I need to remember they even have one. They only market or advertise for it a little at this casino resort. I am here for newcomers to spas or people who frequent them to enjoy them. Anyone who is very particular about them or goes to world-class, five-star spas likes this one less. I'll review and visit this one this year.

      NIGHTCLUB & LOUNGE
No nightclubs are here so that you won't find the crazy adult nightlife craze. Many won't enjoy that, but I like all nightclubs. I enjoy dancing, singing, DJs, and all music genres, but those businesses attract annoying clientele. Anyone who dislikes big crowds and show-offs will be all right. Anyone looking to party will be more satisfied. The lounge is small and all right.

      BLACKJACK CASINO
The player's cards here at MGM don't have crazy applicable benefits unless you plan on ONLY staying at their properties and coming frequently. It's six months to a year that you lose your status anyway. Blackjack is 6-5 unless it's a high limit. Dealers must deal correctly and have personality, engagement, empathy, and skill. It's the same for the bartenders. Some are fun, and some are not. Casino life here is very average.

Overall, you will be satisfied but won't frequently talk about Excalibur.

The responses from Yelp managers, guest relations, and owners could be more specific. Any critique will get stomped out by, "THANK YOU, EXCALIBUR STILL GREAT!" You make money without supporting the staff and listening to guest comments on improvements. It still needs to change that this spot was significant only in the 90s.

Karaoke is the best thing going on here. However, the sound couldn't be any louder. The EQ is ear-piercing and makes most people leave. Those who stay are deaf and go to sporting events, but the music here can be fantastic if you balance it better. The drink specials are garbage. The staff doesn't even want to work karaoke, so they don't make it fun.

Stick a sword in it! Meh Casino and even more Meh hotel (although the rooms are big). I'm pretty sure this opened during the whole "Let's make Vegas family friendly" era. The restaurants and amenities here are also pretty meh too. Well, except the Tournament of Kings which is pretty great!

The casino is pretty big though! It's easy to get lost and lose track of which part of the casino you're in. Same if you're staying in one of the towers, if you go to the wrong one, then it's a bit of a walk to the other one. Also, after checking in, you have to walk through the casino to your room. Again, dumb design during the "if people have to walk through the casino to their room, they'll be enticed to gamble". Guess what Einstein, they're in Vegas!!!

The best thing I can say about this hotel is it has a great location. It's close to a lot of other hotels and the airport, so if you're taking an Uber, it may be a bit cheaper. You can hit up some of the nicer hotels like Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand which are super close. If you want an even worse place to go, the Tropicana is right across the street. When are they ripping that POS down?

You can stay cheap and spend your money on other stuff. Just keep in mind that pretty girl saying hi to you on the walkway over LV Blvd only wants one thing in your pants, and it's not what you want it to be.

I went with my mom when she went to get her Vegas Work Card. In Las Vegas, you'll need a work card if you're employed in certain occupations, such as bartending, child care, or adult entertainment. She worked part-time at the Excalibur Casino, giving out free plays on a slot machine rock when the customers entered. Many Vegas residents get those work cards to make extra money and have fun in their spare time.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) issues work cards by the provisions prescribed by the Nevada Revised Statute, Clark County Ordinances, and the Las Vegas Municipal Code.

Cleanliness of rooms is horrible. Hair in the shower from previous, dirty floor & sink. Rooms are out dated with rusting fixtures & peeling wallpaper. Headboards on beds were never cleaned or wiped down. Upon reading reviews this isn't a recent problem, this goes back years. Surprised this hotel survived.
      I give it zero stars

I brought the kid to Vegas. Big mistake. Vegas is NOT kid friendly.

My parents brought me here when I was younger (many, many moons ago) and I thought it would be nostalgic to bring my kid.

We came for the Dungeon Arcade and the Tournament of Kings. We did NOT stay at the hotel.

The Dungeon Arcade was incredibly small and super expensive. $40 barely lasted an hour. $40 = 420 tickets to use. However, the games to play were anywhere form 40-50 tickets. It was ridiculously expensive. The kid had fun because what does a 7 year old know?

The hotel itself was super sad and felt dirty. The staff was friendly and offered us discounted tickets to Tournament of Kings. However, tickets were for the next day so we couldn't use them.

The only reason why we stopped by Excalibur was for the Tournament of Kings. There aren't many places you can bring a 7 year old, so I thought this would be a good place. Tickets were $86 per person. We sat on level A, Seat 1 and 2, in Austria. We were basically the front row seats. I think this was worth it. Dinner and a show for less than a $100 is a good deal in my book. Especially knowing that a show is typically $100 on its own.

Dinner: was a whole Cornish hen, corn, potatoes, and bread. No utensils - you eat with your hands. Coke and water comes with the meal. Adult bevvies were extra.

Dinner was noisy and fun. Super interactive. The show was great. There were real horses! Load of action! Perfect show for a kid.

I've stayed at 20+ Strip / Strip adjacent hotels in Las Vegas doing staycations. If anyone can speak on this topic, it's me.

You're not getting a room at the Wynn for less than $30 base + resort fee. You're at the Excalibur, so dial back your expectations. I just spent 5 days in December doing a staycation while family was in town for less than $200 - during Christmas!

The rooms have been remodeled and I've stayed at Excalibur pre and post remodel. It's a great, cheap place to stay when I have an early morning flight to catch and don't want to have a long drive or expensive Uber to the airport. It's a great place to stay if I know I'm going to be too tired to drive home after a VGK game or show.

The rooms are fine. The carpets, furnishings and TV have been updated. The bathroom shower has the old créme colored tile, but other than that, it's not hideously out of date.

As a local (3 hours free) and a gold card member, I get free parking. If you're a tourist, the parking fee can be a big chunk of money.

I will complain that the VIP Lounge and check-in has no gluten-free options for your complimentary snack. That's not cool. I did get complimentary club soda or water at check-in.

Did you know that ZERO Las Vegas Strip casino resorts offer microwaves in their hotel rooms? Most now don't include a mini refrigerator either to store your own food. Hotels that did offer mini refrigerators have removed them from the room and some (ex: Luxor) allow you to rent one back for a daily fee!

Not only are there no real celiac-safe restaurants on the Strip, you can't even bring your own food to store and heat up in your room without a microwave or mini refrigerator. That's a big problem at Excalibur and why it's not 4 stars.

As a local, I brought a cooler and had to fill it up with ice from the ice machine to cool my snacks. Okay, microwaves are potential fire hazards, but please bring back mini fridges.

I've seen all the shows at Excalibur except Thunder From Down Under. This property has a lot of affordable entertainment options and I don't agree with the ridiculous post-remodel reviews from people painting it as a hovel. It's not.

Not everyone has the budget for a luxury property but I believe there's still a place for people looking to visit Vegas on a budget.

Excalibur is an easy walk to the main Strip properties, including Park MGM which has a free tram to City Center and Bellagio, while Excalibur itself has a free tram to connect you to Luxor and Mandalay Bay. If you walk across the bridge between Excalibur to Tropicana to MGM, you can ride the monorail all the way to Sahara and even the Westgate. The location is fantastic for this price.

If you're on a budget and need a place to stay, I'd recommend Excalibur.

We good due to the price , like the casino and parking , couple issues with room, could only connect with wifi downstairs not up in 7236, had the tiniest trash can in room, and bath room had and odd smell
But overall was a pleasurable stay.

I strolled through the Excalibur recently. I like it's medieval theme. I got to see some people perform karaoke on a stage. I like that there's an arcade.
